Boss Wants Walsall Reward

Boss Wants Walsall Reward

It goes without saying Tony Mowbray is hopeful of rewarding another huge Blackburn following at Walsall with all three points, but knows it'll be far from straightforward.

Walsall, unbeaten in their last four, come face to face with Blackburn barely a month after the meeting at Ewood Park, which was won by Rovers on that occasion thanks to strikes from Danny Graham and Bradley Dack.

Mowbray is expecting a different challenge from Walsall on Saturday against a side who will most likely adopt different tactics and benefit from some player arrivals since that meeting.

'We only played them three or four weeks ago and they'll have learnt a lot about that game. Speaking to their manager after the game, he was disappointed that they fell into a few traps that night,' Mowbray told the Official Website.

Adding: 'They'll be desperate to get a positive result and to play the team at the top of the table will only intensify things for their supporters. They'll adapt their usual tactics, I'm sure. It shouldn't impact what we do and the way we play. They'll come into the game feeling good about themselves.'

Having moved to the top of the League One table Blackburn are now in a good position to achieve automatic promotion. However, both Wigan and Shrewsbury do have games in hand, not that Mowbray is actually looking too far ahead at the moment.

He went on to say 'we've enjoyed trying to claw back the points, enjoyed the chase' and feels leading the pack should now be the 'motivation' to remain where we are.

With a sold out away end at the Banks's Stadium the boss certainly wants to reward those heading back to Lancashire after the game.

The boss finished: 'We'll have a big travelling support and hopefully we'll make it a good day for them. The away support has been amazing in the year I've had at the club. I remember the stand in my first game away at Burton being full that night. The team played well for that game and the supporters were brilliant. They've been superb all season for us.'

Meanwhile, earlier this week, the Official Website confirmed the loan exit of left back Jack Doyle.

Doyle, 21, will spend the remainder of the season with Derry City where the youngster will bid to further gain first team experience, making his debut against Coventry in August as a second half substitute. The academy graduate made his full debut against Stoke a few weeks later.
