Mowbray - Definitely Dropped Points Against Oldham

Having been two-nil down the fact Blackburn came back to level against Oldham saw a point gained. However, Tony Mowbray was left in little doubt it was actually two dropped at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Oldham, battling against relegation, went ahead midway through the first half when on-loan Wolves man Duckens Nazon scored. He beat David Raya once more ahead of the interval to leave the Latics in control.

Blackburn were back in the game in the second half when Charlie Mulgrew's dream season continued as the captain fired in a 25 yard freekick for his 12th of the campaign.

20 minutes from time Newcastle loanee Adam Armstrong scored his first goal since his arrival to bring Rovers level - despite Oldham losing Wilfried Moimbe to a second yellow card in the final 10 minutes a winner couldn't be found.

Credit was given to Oldham, but Mowbray wasn't hiding his frustration.

He told the Official Website: 'It's definitely two points dropped. Let's give credit to Oldham for how they performed in the first half, they played without fear and on the front foot. It's disappointing, because we worked on the fact that you can't let them put crosses in, so that's a big frustration for us.'

Mowbray knew Oldham's visit to Ewood would be a big one for them and their 'most highly-motivated game of the season,' which saw them offer up a performance to match.

Failure to secure all three points meant Blackburn missed the chance to capitalise on the results of promotion rivals Wigan and Shrewsbury. However, there's still 'a long way to go' and Rovers will finish in the top-two if we deserve it.

The boss finished: 'We're disappointed, especially after seeing the results of Wigan and Shrewsbury, it's more painful for us. But, it's a point gained and another game down - we've got a long way to go and if we're good enough we'll finish first or second.'
