Hughes Expecting Dunn To Be Fit

The site that so many people feared seeing but very much hoped they wouldn't - David Dunn limping out of a Blackburn Rovers game - was witnessed at the Weekend. Mark Hughes expects him to be fit to the midweek UEFA Cup tie however.

In his first start since returning to Ewood Park during the January transfer window Dunn lasted only fifteen minutes before having to go off having clashed with Everton's Phil Neville, sustaining a dead leg.

With Steven Reid and Robbie Savage already out for the season and Morten Gamst Pedersen out for another week or so the more numbers we have available in midfield the better so Dunn's availability is even more important. Mark Hughes expects him to be fit to feature against Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Cup on Wednesday however, he said:

"It was a concern when he limped off but thankfully we think it is just a bang on the hip and a dead leg.

"It is very sore at the moment, and he wasn't able to continue as it affected his movement, but it should settle down."

Signed a cracking player there havent you. Should keep the club doctor busy.

Having Dunny and as many others available for the tricky trip to Germany is crucial. An away goal or two and in an ideal world a clean sheet on our part will see us very much with a foot in the last 16.
