Vital View - FA Cup - 1st-3rd December 2017

The FA Cup season continued with the second round with these games played over the weekend.

Wigan avoided the upset the TV cameras were looking for on Friday but the League One leaders will require a replay after being held by Non-League Fylde.

The only surprise, really, on Saturday came at Meadow Lane when League Two side Notts County - albeit going well in their division - overcame Oxford in a five goal thriller.

Goals flowed at Forest Green when they played out a thrilling three-all draw with Exeter - they also flew in at Stevenage as they thrashed Swindon 5-2.

They wouldn't exactly be classed as an upsets - as clubs involved were each League One sides - but Wimbledon overcame Charlton and Doncaster crushed Scunthorpe. Another from that division, Blackburn, were held by Crewe at Ewood Park.

Non-Leagues sides didn't go too well on Sunday with most soundly beaten. However, Woking will be in Monday's third round draw as they held Peterborough.

Here's a round-up of the FA Cup results with one game to take place.

Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Blackburn`s game against Doncaster had already been called off. If it hadn`t, it definitely would with the Republic of Ireland`s decision to include two defenders in the final squad.

No Tippy-Tappy Performer

Bradley Dack has proven plenty of ability on the ball and has a keen eye for a goal, but the former Gillingham man has also show he's physically able and willing to get stuck in.

Modest Marksman

You'll not find many who haven't been impressed by Armstrong since he came to Blackburn. The on-loan Newcastle forwards goalscoring exploits speak for themselves.

Different Date Same Outcome

International call ups for Leutwiler, Mulgrew and Evans, along with provisional calls for Lenihan and Williams mean the trip to Doncaster has changed, the hoped outcome wouldn't.
