Boss Chasing Consistency
Once the final international break of the year is out the way it'll be all hands to the pump for Blackburn and Tony Mowbray is looking for a run of League One consistency in the lead up to Christmas.
Due to the call ups Rovers aren't going to have a game this weekend before returning to face Bury on Saturday 18th November - it'll be a case of Saturday and Sunday off but that's it.
He told the Official Website: 'No, it's feet up for one day only. They're back in on Thursday and Friday and can have the weekend off. We'll have a full week of preparation for a busy period. We're looking forward to it.'
It's been an up and down League One season so far but when back in action against Bury, one of four games to see out the month, it'll start the lead up to Christmas, during which time Mowbray's looking for a consistent run from a 'stop-start' campaign.
'It's been a stop-start season, but hopefully with the international breaks done until the new year, we can get some consistency. We want to be on the front foot, ask questions of teams and get the results we require in the league,' add Mowbray.
Meanwhile, Mowbray has also praised the impact of U23 forward Joe Nuttall.
Fresh from his latest goal - his third in as many games - in Tuesday's defeat against Rochdale in the Checkatrade Trophy the boss made it clear Nuttall is very much part of his first team plans, but he's wary of overloading him.
Mowbray told the Official Website: 'He's already part of the first-team squad. He's trained with us for the last couple of weeks every day. Joe's a young guy and it's very important not to overburden him, but he`s done exceptionally well.'
