Rovers Deserved Plymouth Win - Mowbray

Blackburn had been looking to bounce back from the weekend defeat against Oldham but had to settle for a point against bottom side Plymouth.

Rovers could, if not should, have secured all three points but rescued one when coming from behind to draw 1-1 at Ewood Park on Tuesday.

Having controlled the early stages, Blackburn slipped behind when Graham Carey's fine strike into the top corner put Plymouth ahead shortly past the half hour mark.

Danny Graham put Bradley Dack in to level it up in first half added time, the summer signing finishing through the legs of Plymouth goalkeeper Kyle Letheren - despite pushing for a second half winner Rovers couldn't find one.

Credit was given to Plymouth but Tony Mowbray wasn't hiding behind the fact how disappointed he wasn't Blackburn couldn't find a winner as there were enough chances created but it 'wasn't to be.'

'It was a game that we probably deserved to take three points from but didn't. I can't stand here today and overly-criticise the players, other than for a lack of nous in terms of putting the ball in the net in the final third,' Mowbray told the Official Website.

Adding: 'We had enough chances tonight to win a few games, but it wasn't to be. Credit to Plymouth, it was a long trip for them, but [we're feeling] huge disappointment. We kept going right until the end, but it just wasn't to be tonight.'

There were positives for the boss to take from the evening though and he believes if the 'same intensity' is shown going forward, with plenty of games to be played, Blackburn will secure plenty of victories.

Mowbray said: 'What I will say is that if we continue with the same intensity we showed tonight, we'll win a lot of matches, we'll be fine. There's a long way to go, and the players are saying that as well. There are a lot of games and we have to play on the front foot as we did tonight.'

Play Well And You Keep Your Place

Raya, who came to Blackburn in 2012, has worked hard to establish himself as the first choice goalkeeper and this effort has paid off as the Barcelona-born keeper is now Mowbray's man.
