Tough Plymouth Game Expected

Tough Plymouth Game Expected

Blackburn have a chance to respond quickly to Saturday's defeat against Oldham when basement side Plymouth come to Ewood Park for the latest League One game this evening.

Tony Mowbray is expecting Plymouth to up their game, which has been the case with most clubs facing Rovers this season, warning the players to be prepared for this.

He told the Official Website: 'We know it's a big game for every team that plays us. They see the heightened expectations of the crowd and players. I've watched two or three games of the teams we've played before and didn't see that intensity that I see against us. That's to be expected, we have to live with that, and I told the players we have to be ready for every single game.'

Mowbray went on to talk about how 'mentally tough' this division can also be with this 'probably more than half of the battle in this league' - reactions have been seen more often than not this season and the boss is expecting this again this evening.

Plymouth, following promotion as runners up in League Two last season, haven't adjusted to life in League One so far and come into this as the side at the bottom of the table. However, they did hold then-leaders Shrewsbury to a draw on Saturday.

A challenge awaits Blackburn though, much the same with all games as most can beat each other on any given day.

'I think they're all tough games in this league. Plymouth haven't had the best start but if you look at their results, they've all been tight games. We're expecting a really tough game again but have to get back to winning ways as quickly as we can,' said the boss.

Concluding: 'There aren't many teams that are running away and scoring lots of goals. There aren't many teams like Man City in League One that can score seven. Every team can fight, tackle and make it hard for you, though. We scored four against MK Dons but two of those were in the last few minutes. A bit of quality here and there can make the difference. Let's see what Tuesday night brings.'
