Midfielder Sidelined Again

Midfielder Sidelined Again

Tony Mowbray knows he'll again have to do without Ben Gladwin.

Gladwin was forced to miss Saturday's draw at Shrewsbury and will again be absent for Blackburn when Rotherham come to Ewood Park this evening.

Having sustained a slight thigh strain in training on Friday, which force his absence at the weekend, Mowbray is already prepared for his enforced absence against the Millers too.

Mowbray doesn't think this problem is too serious though and will keep him out for a week to ten day, maximum.

He told the Official Website: 'Ben has got a thigh strain, he picked it up on Friday in training. I hope it is precautionary, but he won't be ready for this one. It is a slight muscle strain so it is going to be at least a week to ten days just to settle it down. It isn't a serious injury, it is just a strain.'

The midfielder hasn't been involved as much as he would have hoped but the former QPR man has been praised for his 'fantastic application' in training, which will soon see Gladwin back in the fold.

If he's not fit for the weekend Mowbray's convinced Gladwin will be back for the Checkatrade Trophy next week.

Mowbray added: 'It is unfortunate for him because he has a fantastic application for having not played so many minutes recently. He is still staying very positive in the group and training hard. I'm sure his opportunity will be just around the corner for him.It won't be long, if not the weekend then it might be the Tuesday night in the Checkatrade Trophy I suppose.'
