Hard Work Pays Off At Bradford

Hard Work Pays Off At Bradford

Blackburn's hard work at Bradford paid off with a first League One win collected as a result. However, pleased as he was, Tony Mowbray is looking for more.

After a goalless first half Blackburn made the breakthrough minutes into the second period when fit again Craig Conway put in a cross that was headed home by Dominic Samuel.

The former Reading forward continued his impressive goalscoring start since arriving during the summer with, what proved to be, a 47th minute winner.

Heading into the game against a Bradford side who didn't lose a single League One game at Valley Parade last season, the Bantams had won their previous two league games too, Mowbray said he wanted '100% effort.'

Getting that pleased Mowbray but the boss told the Official Website he's still looking for more.

'I asked for 100% effort, graft and commitment and I think that's what we got. I want us to be better footballers, I want us to play to the strikers better, to deliver the ball into the box better in the final third, but generally I could ask no more of them today.'

Having matched Bradford, another of the minimum requirement from Mowbray, the boss went on to say he feels Blackburn, should this continue, proved we'll be hard to beat as the campaign unfolds.

'This league is hugely physical and everybody gives everything they've got and if you don't match that then you aren't going to win many football matches,' added Mowbray.

Concluding: 'Today it showed them a lesson really that if we give that effort and desire then we are going to be difficult to beat and will win some matches.'
