Third Hibernian Spell 'Unlikely' For Stokes
If Anthony Stokes is to leave Blackburn in the summer it isn't expected, as had previously been the case, he'll return for another stint at Scottish Premiership side Hibernian, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.
A number of factors, most notably finances at both clubs, would be the main reason for Stokes' failure to return to Easter Road for a third time, following two previously successful spells at Hibernian.
Hibernian boss Neil Lennon, who also managed him at Celtic, reportedly made a loan approach for Stokes in January, which failed. Any bid to sign him this summer would depend on Blackburn releasing the Republic of Ireland international or accepting a 'nominal fee.'
These reports suggest paying up his contract isn't an option and his wage demands could scupper a Hibernian deal anyway, not to mention the fact his exit would leave Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray with just the one senior striker on the books .at Ewood Park, Danny Graham
As things stand Stokes will remain at Ewood, despite the fact he hasn't featured since Mowbray's arrival.
