Dunn Nearly Ready For Rovers

Despite yet to make he second Blackburn Rovers debut due to the fact that he is still working on his fitness Mark Hughes says David Dunn is making excellent progress.

Dunn missed out on the Luton FA Cup match as he continues building up his fitness but will surely be pressing for a place when we take on Chelsea on Wednesday evening. Hughes says Dunn is in the best physical condition he has ever seen! Sparky said:

"He's looking very sharp, he's in as good a physical condition as I've ever seen David. He's in great nick and in ideal physical condition, but what he needs is match fitness and that is what we are trying to put into him.

"He's not in contention this weekend but he will be involved in the next couple of days in practice matches and we'll see how he goes and if we can get him involved in the coming weeks."

I won't lie (and now claim otherwise as people will know I was lying!) I was unsure about Dunny's return but from the moment it happened I've been thrilled and can't wait to see him pull on the blue and white halves again.

Hopefully we'll see Dunny against Chelsea although Sheffield United back at Ewood on Saturday may be more likely? Sparky is clearly impressed with the progress he is making so he must be ready… mustn't he?

Hopefully he's not being rushed back due to are lack of central midfielders but I dont see Hughes doing this. I will be good to see him back playing well in a Rovers shirt again

The signs from the weekend (albeit against a weaker opponent than we'll usually face, with respect to Luton) that Bents could do a job in the middle if needed so Sparky certainly won't rush him back. Would be good to at least see him on the bench against the Champions with a glorious return at the weekend!
Hughes Da Man
it would be but I still think that Bentley is too wee for the middle, just think he's better on the rite, more dangerous
Clint
True but he can still handle himself can't he.

He's not exactly a fairy is he?!?!?! He can play there in the middle but needs to play withr ight partner alongside him. I agree with the fact that right midfield is his best position.

I still think that he's not big enough, he will get stuck in but with bigger, stronger players being in the middle rather than fullbacks i just feel he'll come off second best most of the time, he'll do a job in there but I feel its a waste when he's much better on the wing, but needs must at times i suppose
Clint
Just goes to show the standards that Rovers require, fitness wise, when compared to other teams. Says it all when a fit Dunn won't be in contention until the game against Sheff Utd. Even then I think he will only be used as a sub.

Certainly does a Sheffield United for example would have thrown him straight in wouldn't they, Sparky expects a lot physical wise and gets it, if not you're in trouble! Dunny will (all being well!) be in awesome condition by the time he's unleashed!!!
