Bentley Reiterates England Goal

David Bentley's form for Blackburn Rovers this season has seen him often touted for an England call-up. Bentley himself has again reiterated his desire to see this happen.

Bentley told sky sports news:

"Hopefully he (Steve McClaren) can see potential in me and some of the other young lads in the Premiership. Hopefully he can see that.

"You are never going to know if you are good enough until you get that chance, until you can play and see how you react when you go out there.

"Some players can freeze and some can go on and do well and hopefully if I am given the chance I can kick on and do well."

If Bentley's form continues then he must have a great chance of making the squad for the friendly with Spain in February won't he?

If Bents keeps up his form if Stevie Mac is true to his word and picks players on current form how could he miss out?

Hes definitly worth a look in his next squad i think. would be good to see a rover in the england set up again

It's been a while hasn't it BomBom. Come on Stevie Mac give the guy a chance, think he's more than earned it (any bias aside!)
Hughes Da Man
I think he's good enough for a chance.
jogabonito
Think he showed enough again today in a central roaming role to prove he's worth a look at, stay by your phione next weekend Bents as Stevie Mac may very well be calling you!
Hughes Da Man
I think he is in with a shout. Hid delivery is emmaculate and he is a lot more disciplined noe than he was about 2/3 years ago.
