Greatest Ever Squad: Left Midfield

As you know we at Vital Blackburn are trying to put together our Greatest Ever Blackburn Rovers Squad. The left midfielder's names have been suggested so the voting can start soon.

After looking through the names you, the vital Blackburn members suggested; these came up:

Lars Bohinen
Noel Brotherston
Damien Duff
Kevin Gallacher
Mike Harrison
Bobby Langton
Ally McLeod
Morten Gamst Pedersen
Scott Sellars
Dave Wagstaffe
Jason Wilcox

From those names these are the options that will be available for you to vote on (in no preferential order, merely alphabetical)...

Noel Brotherston
Damien Duff
Kevin Gallacher
Morten Gamst Pedersen
Scott Sellars
Jason Wilcox

Some of you mentioned the names more than once, but to be fair I've only taken into account the mention once from each member.

So you have brought the above into contention for the left midfield positions in the Greatest Ever Squad. Voting will start soon to determine which TWO will take their place in the squad. So keep your eyes peeled to make sure you vote the men into the squad you want.

Just to recap this squad will comprise of the following:

3 Goalkeepers

2 Left-backs (or Wing-backs)
4 Centre-backs
2 Right-backs (or Wing-backs)

2 Left-midfielders (or Wingers)
4 Central Midfielders
2 Right-midfielders (or Wingers)

4 Forwards

Thanks for your efforts in contributing names; hopefully this will continue right the way through the selection process...

I thought that Brotherston was more of a right midfielder but I go with the masses as although chances are he'd be mentioned in this role (if he doesn't make it into the squad here anyway?) didn't think you could have a greatest ever without including him in a poll at least.

this is actually going to be quick hard to decide... Noel will have to wait for his chances on the Right! i'm still at a loss - Duffy definately but there is little to split the rest... does anyone want to help me out here... MGP - talent but what about consistancy... Really can't decide on the others...

quick hard? quite hard - d'oh!

Wilcox was a very good player for us but his times at Leeds may spoil his overall view, but him and Le Saux worked well down the left, he had a great cross on him but I dont know about great!? was Gallagher not more of a striker and Sellars im not sure about, so outta the ones on mention ( bearing in mind that Noel is a def on the rite ) for me its Duff although great is a strong word! Pederson has a lot of work to do to be called a Rovers Great

It's both quick hard and quite hard EER! Duffer is the gimmie here. If MGP stays for a few more years then he would have a great chance of being a great for me he can't be this yet. Gally, Scotty and Wilcox have little between them. I've always liked Scotty, but also thought Gally was superb with us, both underrated players. Think Wilcox was superb with Rovers but he was maybe overrated, maybe in the right place at the right time, not taking anything away from him. Noel will have to wait for the right hand side also for me.

Duff wins it for me and I'm also gonna go for a little bit of bias here and say Scott Sellars as well.

Well, its obvious that Duffer is a shoe in but as for his back up, im goin with Sellars as he brought more to the table than Wilcox did, Jase had a few good seasons with us but as pointed out, he hardly set the world on fire during the Leeds revolution. Sellars was in an underperforming side and stood out, that seals it for me.
BomBom
I think Sellars also gets my vote, I've thought long and hard but ALWAYS rated the guy wherever he was, never got the credit he deserved but was a fantastic footballer, Duffer (gimmie) and Scotty for me!
