Mowbray Disappointment After Norwich Draw

Mowbray Disappointment After Norwich Draw

Tony Mowbray's unbeaten start at Blackburn was extended to five but a late Norwich equaliser meant Rovers dropped below Bristol City into the bottom three on goal difference.

Norwich - who sacked Alex Neil ahead of the game - went ahead through Cameron Jerome in the first half but soon lost Mitchell Dijks to a sending off and Blackburn eventually equalised through Portugal international Lucas Joao.

Blackburn were all set for a win when Sheffield Wednesday loanee Joao - who had come off the bench - scored again but when Jerome completed his own brace late on Rovers were held to a 2-2 draw at Carrow Road.

Mowbray admitted to his frustration at having to settle for a point in the end after Blackburn had been in 'total control' for much of the game.

He told BBC Radio Lancashire.

'The frustration is that we only ended up with a point after being in total control.'

But the boss did feel there was plenty to be positive about though.

'There was a lot of good positive stuff in that we were in control of the game and weren't overly threatened by a Norwich team that was in the Premier League last year but we let ourselves down in the last 10 minutes after going in front.'

However, Mowbray admitted the game 'should have been won' from the position of dominance Rovers were in.

'The game should have been won at 2-1, there should have been no way back, they couldn't get over the half-way line but we allowed them to score.'
