Samba Poised For Blackburn Move?

Christopher Samba is reportedly poised to complete his move to Blackburn Rovers.

The DR Congo Internationals current club Hertha Berlin have said they are merely awaiting final conformation of the deal after the defender agreed a two-and-a-half year contract with Rovers following a four-day trial when he impressed Mark Hughes.

"We are waiting for the fax to arrive at any minute. It would be great for him if it works out," said Hertha coach Falko Gotz.

Such a move would see him become Rovers third capture during the transfer window following the re-arrival of David Dunn and capture of Stephen Warnock but would probably end the interest in Andrij Nesmachny. The Ukrainian Internationals club Dynamo Kiev had already said they were getting impatient waiting for Rovers to decide whether to pursue an interest or not with Dynamo Kiev president Igor Surkis saying:

"We sent Blackburn an enquiry about their decision last Saturday but there has been no response still.

"We will wait for Blackburn's answer until Tuesday. If they don't reply in this period then Nesmachny will stay at Dynamo."

I have to admit I know little about Samba but if Sparky rates him that’ll do me!!! Nesmachny would have made a very good signing but after Warnock's arrival and Samba's pending one you find it hard to believe that Sparky will move for him now?
Hughes Da Man
Kyiv have warned Rovers apparently that if we dont move on him by tuesday (today) then he's not going anywhere. That being the case, anyone else think that this guy is more likely to arrive in the summer now if at all, as we have far more pressing needs to deal with in the last week of the window.

With regard to Samba, he's young (22) hes an international, albeit with DR Congo and hes been playin in Die Busndesliga with Hertha Berlin though hes only played 20 games in 3 seasons for them and a total of 91 minutes do far this season, at least we know hes fresh then! He played in France prior to that, plus, as you said, Sparky seems to like him and we know Sparkys results on trial players signing on full time! FYI the reported amount its costing us is £325,000.
BomBom
Where did you hear that figure BomBom? He is 22, doesn't appear to cost much and so I trust Hughe's judgement on this one.
roversman
A german website mate, its actually 500,000 euros, which is roughly that.
BomBom
£325,000 is nothing... well obviously not nothing but next to it. 22, International, experience (albeit limited) in both France and Germany seems like a win win situation. Even if things didn't work out I'd find it hard to believe that a club wouldn't give Rovers back at least that if not more?
Hughes Da Man
You making plans to cash in on him already HDM?? lol
BomBom
lol! You would just think that for £325,000 we have little if nothing to lose as on a two-and-a-half year deal we would have to get something back if it doesn't work so we'd get at least this, probably closer to £500,000 if it didn't?
Hughes Da Man
He may be a good buy, sure no-one knew Nelsen in the Jan transfer window so maybe this may turn out to be a bargain!! anyway in his pics he looks like a well-put-together lad
Clint
Unless he stinks the place up, then we'll be paying the guy to sit in the stands, although Sparky hasnt failed us yet with his trialists
BomBom
This is a good move IMO... he looks big and Hughes clearly has a vision of the Twin Towers at centre halves.... (Ooijer and Nelsen), obviously this aint gonna happen so this looks to be a good bet. Does anyone know eher we are getting all this money from??!?!? Thought we were nearly broke in terms of transfer market money.

I have seen this guy play. SIGN HIM UP. A solid rock, does not back out of any challenges and is faster then what he looks, sign him up, pair him with Nelson and id say this combination will lead us to glory!!!!!!!!!!!!
sasman
the boy Samba is 22 and 6'4" if he's as good as sasman has said then we'll have another Sparky Stunner
Clint
Sounds good. Get him in... He looks dam scary... he makes "The Axe" look like a right pansy.
