Neill Completes Ground Breaking Move

After months of speculation and rumour Blackburn Rovers defender Lucas Neill has finally completed his move away from Ewood Park.

After his displays at the 2006 World Cup Finals with Australia he was linked with the mighty AC Milan so it was always only a matter of time before Neill moved on. As others Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Aston Villa apparently entered the race it seemed that nobody would beat Liverpool as he "always wanted to join them."

Today finally saw a move happen as the Aussie completed a move (thought to be around £1.5 million) to the mighty West Ham United! Signing a two-and-a-half year LUCRATIVE contract with the Premiership strugglers.

No one would have begrudged Neill his "dream move" to Liverpool but come on West Ham (with all due respect to Hammers fans) this is hardly the ground breaking move forward Neill said he wanted is it! Giving up UEFA Cup football with a team pressing on again for a top six place; you can't help but think it was always about the money? How much was agent Peter Harrison whispering in his ear in order to turn his head as much as it was?

Nevertheless Neill's been a willing servant and this can not be taken away but the move as it has panned out has got to leave a sour taste in so many people's mouths? But I'm sure in our own ways we'll wish him well...

Neill has spoken about West Ham's ambition and Liverpool's lack of commitment to him (think people have mentioned things along this theme regularly!) but INSISTS it isn't the money!

To a degree I can sympathize with his point of view, however, why not just stay at Rovers? Oh well he has got his dream move to play somewhere where he can achieve everything he wants. Good luck Lucas and thank you for your commitment over the years.

Thanks for the commitment Lucas but you reasoning just doesnt add up. Wish you all the best.

Good Luck Lucas.

Good luck Jucas, I honestly hope that list you spoke of gets fulfilled otherwise you and Quashie and Harewood will be visiting Ipswich and Wolverhampton next season, does it matter though? Nah, you're bring in home 60 grand a week, never mind eh?

He can just roll in the cash and keep giving penalties away - as he has done all season with Rovers.... Purely for footballing reasons, my a**e. Just be honest Lucas - it's all about cash!!
Wellsy
He showed his true colours... to leave Ewood for Upton Park... if he had said all along that he wanted to move back to the Capital then maybe I could have believed it. He must have known that he was never going to be promised first team football at Anfield, not when even Bellars can't get a guanranteed place. Once again I would also look to Harrison - I reckon he has had much to do with this as well - what's the betting that Lucas got a cut of any fees paid?

Sell Out! Think the poll is pretty conclusive. You've made a rod for your own back Lucas. Good luck all the same.
