Nelsen Back Sooner Rather Than Later

Nelsen Back Sooner Rather Than Later

Mark Hughes has said that Ryan Nelsen will make his Blackburn Rovers return "sooner rather than later."

After his 75 minutes in the behind closed doors friendly against Rangers during the week Hughes said:

"Ryan is very close. He is looking stronger and he's had a lot of sessions with the group as well.

"I think he just needs the confidence of knowing that he can last a full 90 minutes.

"We'll organise another practice game for him, then hopefully, sooner rather than later, he'll be involved on match days again."

The return of Nelsen will be a massive boost to the backline, as highlighted with some stats last year Rovers are a far tighter unit with the Admiral in it.

The FA Cup tie could come too soon but maybe a return against Chelsea at the end of the month is possible?

I reckon we will definately see fewer goals against Rovers when he returns. Can't wait to have him back, he is just a legend.

Dam it Hughes Da Man... thats my line. This man is like a brick wall. Watch the clean sheets come rolling in when he is back. Him and Andre would of been awesome, shame about today.

The Ooijer injury MAY be a blessing in disguise you know! We have in the reserves, Tony Kane who can play Right or Left back, Eddie Nolan and Andy Taylor who can play anywhere across the back line. These Lads may now get a chance in the senior team, especially Nolan, who is a classy little player.

I'd like to see Andy Taylor in there. He is a great little player. went down a storm in Crewe for a month or so.

Sorry Mickey... had to do it!!! Tayor looks superb, gove him a chance at left backl and move Jay into the middle if needed? I'd like to see a little more of Nolan this season VERY highly rated!

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
