Rovers Looking to Secure Warnock

Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has confirmed talks are taking place with Liverpool over the possible transfer of Stephen Warnock to Ewood Park.

Reports for the most part of the winter were saying that Warnock would move to Rovers as part of the deal to take Lucas Neill to Anfield, but with this move falling through and a move to West Ham now more likely for Neill this hasn't deterred Rovers from pursuing Warnock and a fee of £1.5 million should bring him to Ewood.

"We are talking to Liverpool but we haven't got an agreement as yet, and we haven't got an agreement with West Ham for Lucas either", said Williams.

"But things are still moving along so something could happen over the weekend."

Until Hughes has a replacement for Neill he won't be leaving; it has seemed Warnock has been Sparky's favoured target for a long time so a move could soon happen and the Neill drama finally ends...

Like I said, Sparky seems to like what Warnock has to offer. Is he better than Lucas, I don't know. would he be better than Andriy Nesmachny??? Time will tell, wonder if he goes straight into the team after he signs or if Mickey Gray gets another run?

I think, if he signs, then he will go straight into the starting line-up. I would welcome the move, largely on the strength of the little I have seen and how much everyone waxes lyrical about him. I doubt that he is better than Lucas but he will have time to establish himself and he is of course naturally left footed.

As a left-back he arguably is as good as Neill as as good as Neill is anywhere along the back four he isn't a natural left-back is he Warnock is. He MUST be arriving now as Neill's move to West Ham has been confirmed hasn't it??? Mickey Gray has run his race I think.
Hughes Da Man
I think we will find out soon enough as Ludas has gone to WHU, bless him, it was the ambition of the chairman and the list of players he wanted! Like i said, Curbs is playin Football Manager! Hey Lucas, want to see the shortlist I have for rovers in my current game? ***** you'd never have left LOL. Meh, its hard NOT to be bitter but he was a decent player and will be missed short term so, with that in mind, Best of luck to you Mr. Neill.

Jay McEveley anyone??? the answer is on the front door step.
MikeyGamst
MikeyGamst I have saying this all season I think its a straight fight between him and Warnock for the left back and it will provide cover but I agree that Jay should start, he a good game at the weekend and will only get better with the confidence of starting more reg in the league
