Rovers' Garner in Loan Move
It has been busier than Heathrow`s departures lounge at Ewood Park today with players leaving Rovers.
With Dominic Matteo transferring to Stoke earlier today and reports claiming Lucas Neill will be following him down south, Rovers have allowed young protégé Joe Garner to move to Carlisle on loan for the rest of the season.
The young talent, still at the precocious age of 18, has been making steady progress through the Rovers youth system, now regularly playing for the reserves. He has hit an impressive eight goals in ten outings for the reserves this season.
Mark Hughes will see this as the ideal chance for Garner to gain some competitive first team experience to enhance his learning. It is a tactic that has served Hughes well in his time with Rovers after the official graduation of Matt Derbyshire into the first team.
Garner will be hoping that he can make the most of his time with the League One club.

This is a great move for the kid, first team football at 18-years-old is priceless to him and us. If he maintains his development he should be in or around the first team picture (like Derbyshire) in the next year or so.

Like I mentioned in a previous post, this is good news for Rovers and for Garner. The kid's been touted since he was around 15 and theres a lot of pressure on his shoulders. We'll see how he handles first team football opposed to reserve team games! Good luck to the kid!

Get in! go on Joe.... Just what was needed. He is a talent but he needs the Paul Gallagher treatment of being kicked around in the lower leagues for a while, bulk himself up and toughen him up. Good move for Carlisle, Joe and Blackburn.

It seems that we are all in agreeance that this is a fine move for all, how could it not be! Neil McDonald is a fine young up and coming manager also; one that I think can go far so he'll get a lot out of young Joe.
