Rovers to Miss Out on Dunn?

It looks like Blackburn Rovers could miss out to Premiership rivals Bolton Wanderers in bringing David Dunn back to Ewood Park?

For the past few weeks it has been believed that Dunn's Rovers Return was all but sorted with him almost certain to be welcomed back to Ewood for a fee between £1 and £2 million.

In the past week Bolton and Manchester City had both been rumoured to have entered the race, with Bolton now agreeing to pay Birmingham City a knockdown £1 million with talks taking place this weekend. Speaking on the official Bolton website Sam Allardyce said:

"We are talking to his representatives at the moment, that's the furthest we've got. We shall see how it goes on over the next 24 hours.

"David had a very severe back problem a couple of years ago. That's been dealt with by surgery.

"Steve at Birmingham has decided to move him on for whatever reason and our concern would be the medical.

"After the medical, as long as the financial negotiations continue, we can get to a conclusion on that. I hope there's nothing from the medical side to stop this transfer."

Whether on not Rovers will look to counter this remains to be seen but at the moment Dunny looks to be coming home... but not to Rovers, our local rivals Bolton...

Big Sam has a history of taking a chance on players Dunny looks like being the latest in a long line of players some had been unsure of taking a chance on. News of this surprised me greatly as I was certain he'd be back. Until a deal is signed Rovers can still strike if indeed they want to? Obviously I'd have him back but maybe missing out on him wouldn't be a bad thing?!?!

I would be a tad annoyed if he didn't end up siging for Rovers after so many rumours plus I was informed he wiil be back at Ewood. Perhpas it will be just to watch the blue and white halves.

If it comes down to money can Bolton win? Maybe he can have more assurances of first team football at Bolton plus he must be thinking European Football (maybe even Champions League) is an almost shoe in for Bolton next season although we are in there now. He would be eligable to play for us in the UEFA this season wouldn't he?

Do we really need to take a chance on a player who has such a bad injury record.Personally i would like to see Jason Koumas at Ewood.

I've said before that I'd like Koumas here. Dunny and Koumas much the same player, differences in my opinion Koumas will play more games, score more goals and will stay fit. Dunny; we know what he can do but if he can't play we won't see this. Dunny would want to play for Rovers (or maybe not as it looks!) Koumas would want to play for Hughes, but if you play for Hughes you play for Rovers! Koumas or Dunny... As much as I like Dunny I'd have to opt for Koumas here.

People seem to think he left Blackburn only because of Souness. They forget he was overweight and seemed to lack commitment. Dunn has had his best days. Keep the million or more for a younger, keener and fitter player with more potential for the future.
