After the demolition of Everton, Rovers fans were keen for a comfortable home fixture or the glitz and glamour of a prestigious fixture that would match their 3rd Round result. However, it will be an away day at either Loftus Road or Kenilworth Road depending on who slogs it through in the replay between two of the Championship`s glamour clubs, Q.P.R and Luton Town.
Sentiment will see Rovers fans cheering on Mike Newell`s Luton whilst the opportunists amongst us will be hoping for Q.P.R. Regardless of who wins it will be a tough away fixture.
We saw the kind of display that Luton are capable of against Liverpool last season, although with David Bentley in the mood to shoot from anywhere these days there is every chance of a repeat of Xabi Alonso`s goal.
It will certainly be a fixture (either side) that Rovers will fancy their chances in.
They say there is little room for sentiment in the game of football, Mike Newell will certainly vouch for that, but it would be nice for Rovers` first million pound signing and firm fans favourite to come up against his former side as a manager. He will be doing everything to rouse his players for the replay to ensure such a fixture is realised.
