Blackburn FA Cup Run Continues

Blackburn Rovers impressive record of making round four at least in the FA Cup in recent years continued on Sunday thanks to a fine victory over Everton.

After the short journey to Goodison Park with us returning with a fantastic 4-1 victory over Everton (despite resting players!) meant our impressive record of making the fourth round in nine out of the last ten seasons improved to ten in eleven. The only time in the past eleven seasons we have crashed out in round three came in the 2003-2004 season when Birmingham City crushed us 4-0.

The result of our victory over Everton and Liverpool's defeat to Arsenal means that for the first time since 1998 neither half of Merseyside will be in round four, oh the fall from grace of the one time giants of English football!

Bare this in mind Rovers, the last time we beat Everton in the Cup came way back in 1958 in round four; we then went on to make the semi-final! Let's hope that we can equal and go one further this time and make out first FA Cup Final since 1960...

Our impressive run over the past 11 seasons of only having being beaten once in round three will be tough for many to equal let alone better? I know Man United can (and better this!) and probably Arsenal but there can't be many more teams that can boast this?
