Benni: I'll Never Leave Blackburn

Speaking in Sunday's News of the World newspaper Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy said he will never leave, unless the club wish to cash in on himů which we WON'T!

With the South African in fine form, and not just because of the goals he has scored (which whilst speaking about his goals his fine strike in the FA Cup victory over Everton made it 13 for the season!) has lead to some worrying that perhaps he could go the same way as Craig Bellamy did if his success continues.

But Benni has been quick to quash these concerns by saying he would only look for a challenge elsewhere should the club want to sell him, Benni said:

"I don't know if I have a get-out clause here but if a big club came in and Blackburn wants the money and said yes, I would be interested.

"But I want to be loyal to the people who finally gave me a chance. Blackburn showed a lot of determination to get me and I have a lot of respect for that.

"So if they want me to stay, I will stay. Blackburn's wish is my command.

"I am no longer 23 or 24, when you still have that ambition and you think you could go to an Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester United."

Benni seems and looks more than happy, obviously I've not seen or heard a lot from him when he played abroad but he is ALWAYS happy and ALWAYS smiling when being interviewed win, lose or draw. Not the look of a man that has any desire to move on and why should he!

Why would he want to leave, we can offer him as much if not more than at least 15 other Premiership sides! Legend in the making lets hope this is no "clause" in his contract, even if their is lets hope that neither party looks to trigger it.

That headline has just made my evening.

It is encouraging talk from the lad. I said to you HDM earlier in the season after he made similar comments, whether or not he will be saying the same when things aren't going as well. Well we have had a bad period and he has not stopped smiling and things are looking good again and so this time I believe him 100%!!!!

When I found this out I didn't think the day could get much better then we do Everton 4-1... what a day! May celebrate by watching a little Darts this evening with a shandy, one hundred and eighhhhhhhhty! Today I'll ding dang do for me.

Does anyone know what time MOTD is on tonight??? Im bloody working till ten tonight...
MikeyGamst
You certainly did and his attitude, commitment and style has never changed. Without doubt I'd also believe him 100%, others say it and you don't, he does I do! He's had a fine career (still got a lot to offer mind!) so he can only enhance his reputation by doing something special here with us putting the icing on he cake!
Hughes Da Man
11 Mikey... you'lll be there! Of course I'll switch over for MOTD between grabbing a second shandy!
Hughes Da Man
MOTD is on at 23:15 Mikey so your safe!! Im very encouraged by these words. This is what we need here at Rovers, quality players dedicating their efforts to the club
roversman
So MOTD will start at 11 and Blackburn will eventually come on about 3.30 tomorrow morning for 2 mins then?
MikeyGamst
