Savage Eyeing Up Blackburn Medals

Robbie Savage has revealed how determined he is to win some silverware with Blackburn Rovers... before ideally ending his career with Wrexham.

Savage, who has agreed a contract extension to stay at Ewood Park until 2009 at least has revealed that even should the unthinkable happen and we go through relegation (which is highly, highly unlikely now!) he will remain with us. He said:

"Whatever happens I would stay at Blackburn as I am so happy. I wouldn't jump ship."

With the FA Cup third round almost upon us his and Rovers' quest for FA Cup glory begins with a tough game against Premiership rivals Everton on Sunday. This and subsequent FA Cup, League Cup and the current and hopefully future UEFA Cup adventures represent our best opportunities of making his and our dreams a possibility:

"The new contract will take me to 35 and it would be nice to think I could earn another deal at the end of that," added Sav.

"My big ambition is to win something with Blackburn during the course of my new contract.

"I don't think we are ever going to win the Premiership but we have a good chance in the cups. I hope we can do that.

The Wrexham born former Welsh International then admitted he would love to see out the final days of his career with his home town club:

"When my legs go, I'll sign for Wrexham."

There is no reason why we can't win something in the next two-years! I really do think we can go on to UEFA Cup glory this season; have done all season and the further we go the more I believe this. I'll almost guarantee that if we don't one of the other British clubs WILL!

I;ve said it before and I'll say it again... we have played 3 games this year without the Robster and we have sucked something silly in all of them. Great work Mr Hughes.

I've probably also said it before but will say it again too Mikey I'd totally agree with you again on this very issue!
