Tugay Good Enough for Barcelona

Blackburn Rovers midfield maestro Tugay put in another top class performance in the 1-0 over Liverpool; this prompted Mark Hughes to say Tugay is good enough to play for Barcelona!

Tugay has been in fine form this season, with another master class against Liverpool on Boxing Day (just overshadowed by Brad Friedel's in my opinion) which again left not only us fans but Hughes happy to have the former Turkish International among our ranks.

If only Tugay wasn't 36-years-old! But as Sparky points out himself a 26-year-old Tugay wouldn't be performing at Ewood Park he would be turning out at the Nou Camp for Spanish giants Barcelona:

"Tugay is playing absolutely out of his skin at the moment.

"People say to me, 'don't you wish he was 10 years younger?' My answer is 'no', because if he was he would be at Barcelona."

I know managers often "big up" their players but coming from a man who has played at the Nou Camp, and with some of the biggest names in the game you would think he is right. A younger Tugay wouldn't be at Ewood Park for much longer Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan, Bayern Munich etc. would also be in the queue with Barca for his signature! Although unlikely if Tugay isn't tied down then a move to a bigger club, maybe not Barca or many of the others mentioned could still be a possibility especially with him so willing to carry on playing until he is 40!!!
