David Bentley: Rovers will be Fine

With Blackburn Rovers this season failing to live anywhere near up to expectations (in the League anyway!) following last season heroics David Bentley feels it is far too early to start worrying.

After seeing us finish in sixth place last season, far beyond many people's expectations (certainly those without a Rovers connection anyway) we have been unable to repeat the form of the 2005-2006 season and currently lay just two points above the drop zone despite our morale boosting away victory over Reading last weekend.

Bentley, who earned Rovers the three points with a stunning goal with time running out, running from the halfway line before firing home from outside the area with an unstoppable effort is more than confident we'll pull away from the lower reaches of the League. Speaking to Sky Sports News he said:

"We just need them three points and we need to start winning games.

"We did that against Reading and we need to do that week in, week out.

"We're going to fight all the way, but it's too early for alarm bells to start ringing.

"If we start winning games, we'll be fine."

Speaking on the impact the UEFA Cup has had on the League form he added:

"We've had some big players out and some people that are a big part of the team have been out.

"We've coped and we've had Europe. It's just about picking up our league form. We have to do that and that's what we're in the process of doing."

Let's hope we can keep our mini run going against Arsenal at the weekend, a point at least will be a fantastic result…

You can understand why people might be worrying, and sure I do but I still think that providing we pick up some points from our next three games we'll be more than OK and will start the climb up the table. Bad results from our next three and we'll be right at the foot of the table so then we SHOULD be VERY WORRIED!!!

We'll be fine. Any team who has the players out that we have out would suffer. The turn around will happen. We have a very talented team and the quality will tell in the long run.

"mini run"! after one pemiership last gasp winner, thats real optimism.

Fingers crossed, a bit of luck will be nice

The "mini run" I was actually refering to r.waterfall was including the UEFA Cup win, so in all competitions in terms of our form on a whole this season back to back wins defines a "mini run!"
