Archie Most Rovers Goals in Season?

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll, suggested by govtpros asked "Who scored the most goals in a single season?" You thought Steve Archibald.

The vast majority, 55% in fact voted in favour of Steve Archibald being the man to score the most goals in a season for Rovers, which was wrong. Something that astonished me was the fact that Simon Garner, a Rovers Legend and all time record goalscorer wasn't even voted… even if only a guess!

The correct answer is of course Ted Harper, his 43 Goals in the old Division One during the 1925-1926 season remains the most goals scored by a Rovers player in a single season, only 16% got this correct.

As part of govtpros' on-going efforts to keep Rovers history, as well as their present alive he's highlighted that maybe some homework is needed on our past.

So in summary
Jimmy Quinn - 2%
John Southworth - 5%
Steve Archibald - 55%
Simon Garner - 0%
Ted Harper - 16%
Tommy Briggs - 22%

With the Rovers troubles this season mainly attributed to the absence of several key players (rightly or wrongly) on long, or short-term injury set backs the current poll is asking, "Who are we missing most?"

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

This isn't necessarily something that all Rovers fans needs or indeed have to know but you would have thought many would have? We have to take into account others probably voted also, so these would have been guesses I'd assume. I think govtpros will have to keep his drive alive to keep us in tune with the past as well as the present :)
