Johnson Not a Savage Fan Either!

Robbie Savage is a real love him or hate him character. Blackburn Rovers fans love him... almost all others hate him! Some just think he's an idiot…

Former Rovers midfielder Damien Johnson, a team mate of Savage's during his time with Birmingham City has certainly removed Savage from his Christmas card list (if he hadn't already) and branded Savage "an idiot" after remarks he made about Birmingham and the clubs relegation from the Premiership.

Savage had told Sky Sports that a part of him was glad Birmingham had been relegated along with the views he'd wanted to join Rovers because of Mark Hughes' assistant Mark Bowen's coaching abilities, which were seen as a swipe at Birmingham's own coach Eric Black.

"I saw what Sav said on television and there was no need for him to stir things up like he did," Johnson told the Birmingham Mail.

The Northern Ireland International added:

"People say 'Sav is Sav' but he's just an idiot. I was getting so angry at his comments that I felt like driving down to the studio myself.

"He was asked whether he was pleased that we got relegated and he sat there, smirking, and said 'yes, a part of me was glad."

As we know Savage didn't depart St Andrews on the best of terms, this latest "feud" will only add further fuel to an already roaring fire. I don't look forward to Savage's return to St Andrews next season should Birmingham make an instant return to the Premiership or should we both win our FA Cup ties and be drawn together in Round Four, or later…

Johnson is no stranger to controversy though is he really! When all is said and done Sav sometimes doesn't think he just acts or speaks without thinking but he's honest even if his honesty reveals things people don't like. Too many people beat about the bush; Sav gets straight to the point even if he is diplomatic about it.

Savage is an idiot! Always Happy to give it out either verbal or physical but never happy when it comes back at him!! His actions are often as farcicle as Lehmans and Drogbas were on Sunday!!

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
