Greatest Ever Squad: Centre-backs

As you know we at Vital Blackburn are trying to put together our Greatest Ever Blackburn Rovers Squad. The centre-back names have been suggested so the voting can start soon.

After looking through the names you, the vital Blackburn members suggested, these came up:

Lorenzo Amoruso (hopefully this was as ideas had run out!)
Henning Berg
Mike England
Derek Fazackerley
Graham Hawkins
Stephane Henchoz
Colin Hendry
Kevin Moran
Ryan Nelsen
Darren Peacock
(this wasn't a serious suggestion!)
Ian Pearce
Craig Short

From those names these are the options that will be available for you to vote on (in no preferential order, merely alphabetical)…

Henning Berg
Mike England
Derek Fazackerley
Stephane Henchoz
Colin Hendry
Ryan Nelsen

Some of you mentioned the names more than once, but to be fair I've only taken into account the mention once from each member.

So you have brought the above into contention for the centre-back positions in the Greatest Ever Squad. Voting will start soon to determine which FOUR will take their place in the squad. So keep your eyes peeled to make sure you vote the men into the squad you want.

Just to recap this squad will comprise of the following:

3 Goalkeepers

2 Left-backs (or Wing-backs)
2 Right-backs (or Wing-backs)
4 Centre-backs

2 Left-midfielders (or Wingers)
2 Right-midfielders (or Wingers)
4 Central Midfielders

4 Forwards

Thanks for your efforts in contributing names; hopefully this will continue right the way through the selection process…

Personally I find this VERY HARD on which two I'd like to see left out as all six have genuine cases for varying reasons, some more claim to be in than others. In theory this should be a VERY close thing when the poll kicks off tomorrow!

In theory it should be, but i havent seen the previous generation of players, so have many other voters so in this whole process of deciding for a best rovers team, there might be a bit of bias to the modern or the generation just passed.
sasman
There probably will be a bit of bias towards the more "modern" day players due to the fact this site only in its infancy and probably at the moment only being mainly to a younger generation of fans. As it continues to grow more and more people will join and with them the oppitunity to add their opinion on who should/shouldn't be in the team then we can act accordingly.
Hughes Da Man
I don't really want to say who I'm going to vote for here as I don't want to try and influence people in any way but I like to think that (as I have so far with all positions) I've looked back and back over the history and nominated and voted honestly and not just on the latter day players.

henchoz is my vote
marshinrover
I really rate Henchoz, well certainly from his first spell but personally I think he would be one of the two to miss out if it were down to me. But the vote looks liek it will be VERY close between he is in and who is out.
Hughes Da Man
As we are voting for 2 players in the same spot could you not add 2 polls? just a thought..........

This is only for the squad though isn't it so 4 get in and only 2 actually miss out from the six.
