Does Peter Have Much to Offer?

Does Peter Have Much to Offer?

"I don't think Peter has much to offer Rovers," Wellsy's thoughts on Sergio Peter. He also shares them on Shabani Nonda and Francis Jeffers…ouch!

I don`t think Peter has much to offer Rovers, from what I have seen of him he is too lightweight and offers nothing special other than hard graft.

Nonda has struggled to make any impact apart from the Boro goal - I thought he would have done better. (this comment was made before his Fulham goal.)

Jeffers has lost all of his ability and is still clinging onto his reputation of "fox in the box" for one season about 5-years ago - he should be shipped out to the Championship where he would make an impact.

Personally from what I've seen of Sergio I think he has plenty to offer and would like to see him get a run in the team. Nonda I like his effort and commitment but I don't think this is enough to see him earn a deal. Jeffers hasn't really had a chance has he, so wouldn't mind seeing him given a chance when fit. Until we know what is happening with Nonda (who Highes seems to prefer with Benni) I can't see many people getting a look in.

I have to day that how can we judge Peter?? He has not been given a chance to prove himself, he really only comes on at the end of matches when we are holding on to a lead or something, hence the hard graft. Nonda is ok but dosnt deserve a deal at the end of the season, I think there will be a change or two up front. Jeffers was got on a free and isnt really doing anything, granted he hasnt been given a run of games either but I dont thnk it'll be any big loss if he leaves for the Championship. There are a few players that Hughes could go for in Jan or in the summer that mite prove to be a bigger hit

I agree with Clint. Peter deserves his chance, we have seen some moments of class from the kid. Pederson was a lightweight when he started, but we now know what he is capable of ( if he was consistent he would be better then duff). I would not offer Nonda a contract. From what i have seen he is a class player, but is not a fighter and lacks positional knowledge. Jeffers i have my doubts on but his contract is incentive based so cant really lose much

I think it is fair he is given a chance, I have just judged him on what I have seen so far. Pederson was light-weight but he is 6ft tall he was always going to get stronger. Barring an amazing growth spert this will not happen to Sergio. Jason Roberts, I think is still a class act, I was delighted when Rovers signed him and he is still one of my favourite players - I am amazed that he has not managed to score. When he is back in January/February he will carry on his partnership with Benni and I am sure the goals will flow. Add in Reidy and Nelson and rovers will soon be moving up the table.

Pedersen has been lightweight and with carrying the injury has been pretty much ineffective. Peter has to be given a chance. Its now or never.

Once Pedersen is fit though. will Peter get a sniff. I think not. Why would Hughes have tied Gamst down to another 4 years.

I think this kid has a good chance, but he needs games,i would say a minimum of 10,before we judge.Perhaps Pedersen is playing through the pain barrier each week to keep his place. When he played against West Ham,he came out like a raging bull, and was lucky not to get a red card.We will never have to worry about pedersen doing that.

Roberts is a player I rate very highly and we'll see the very best of him when he returns. I think the Benni Roberts partnership was starting to show signs, when Roberts if fully fit he'll be on fire and score goals, creating countless others. His pace and power terrify some defenders.

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
