Ooijer Should Keep Rovers Armband

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked "Should Ooijer remain captain when Neill returns?" Nice and simple and you said Yes!

With Lucas Neill returning today a quick fire-24 hour poll was held ahead of the game with Fulham to decide if you felt Ooijer should retain the armband, 74% felt yes.

Personally with Neill without question leaving I think it is right that the armband is now passed.

The fact that Neill picked up an injury made the decision easy for Mark Hughes in the short-term but Andre Ooijer has proved a capable deputy and with his long-term future (as long-term as you can get for a 32-year-old!) at Ewood Park it is right that he keeps the armband… at least until the Admiral returns. Hughes may well have different ideas though?

So in summary
Yes - 74%
No - 26%

With the selection of the Greatest Ever Rovers Squad continuing the current poll is asking you to select the, "Greatest Ever Rovers Squad - Left-backs." You can vote on this until Monday, remember the top two make it in!

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

Neill has been a great servant and stood in s captain well but with him leaving, and maybe in a month or so it is time to get used to him without the armband if not used ot him not playing full stop.

i think he should keep the armband all together even when neill is fit to play

I'd not disagree he should keep it but only until the Admiral returns. The best leader we have at the club so he HAS to be captain when he's back, until that point Ooijer will prove an able deputy... assuming Sparky lets him keep the captaincy?
Hughes Da Man
Bitterly disappointed that Sparky gave Neill the armband back, don't think he should have done so to be totally honest.
