Hughes Returning to Scene of Glory

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes will tonight be returning to the scene of one of his greatest triumphs as player when returning to Feyenoord's De Kuip Stadium.

Hughes is taking his men over to Rotterdam for the crunch UEFA Cup Group E tie with Feyenoord in the De Kuip Stadium, the ground on which he won the European Cup Winners Cup with Manchester United in 1991.

Sparky scored both goals for United as they beat Barcelona 2-1 to win the Cup Winners Cup in the first season back in Europe for English clubs following a six ban due the tragic events of Heysel, in which 39 people so tragically lost their lives during the Liverpool - Juventus European Cup Final.

Rovers right-winger come right-back Brett Emerton is also no stranger to the Feyenoord. The Australian as we all know spent three-years with the club prior to arriving at Ewood Park.

Let's hope that Hughes and the returning Emerton can be celebrating another glorious night at the De Kuip tonight…

Thta night in 1991 was one of Hughes' greatest ever nights as a player, lets hope the De Kuip can be the scene of a great game as a manager! Emerton will be looking for something special too, what price a goal?!?
