Mido Didn't Handball!

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked "Mido - Handball or Not?" The majority rule in favour of not.

I called for people to vote honestly and hopefully they did!

60% think that although it may have looked like a handball it came off his chest (several different camera angles seem to suggest otherwise though!)

36% feel it was a clear handball and he knew it with the remaining 4% having the opinion that with it being too unclear to call so it couldn't be given. This is a tough area as we get to see an incident three, four maybe more times a matter of seconds immediately after the incident thanks for TV replays, the referee and linesman just once… in real time! Hence the need for video replays to help them out!

I said I would reveal which way I had voted so I will. Mido didn't intend to handball but the fact that he did was grounds enough for a penalty. Tugay didn't mean to foul Hossam Ghaly but his trail leg (however this happened) lead to Ghaly going down so it was a penalty, so should have Mido's handball!

Mido knew he had got away with it as his punt up field was a punt from a man who knew he had done wrong, his not one but two glances to the referee were also tale-tale signs that he knew he'd handled, all be it inadvertently.

So in summary
Handball and he knew it! - 36%
Looked like hand but came off chest - 60%
Unclear so couldn't be given - 4%

Due to the Watford postponement as Rovers have no further matches to play this month (other than the match tonight) the search for Novembers Player of the Month begins so the current poll is asking, "Defender of the Month for November?."

PLEASE NOTE: The positional votes are going to be quick fire 24-hour ones so get your votes in quick!

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

I think Mido hoofed it up the pitch because a number of players and fans shouted for a penalty and it was a panic reaction. Players glance at Refs if something is 90/10 innocent because refs give all manner of bizarre decisions these days. The MoTD replay from behind the linesman gave the view that he had caught the ball on the lefthandside of the top of his torso and whilst it may then have rolled onto the part of his torso where the shoulder is connected I cannot see how it could have been given. Tugay was very unfortunate especially to be sent off which although in the rules was unfair but both the linesman and the ref saw the incident.

it did look like it came of his chest but he admitted it on the touch line "It did hit me but some you get and some you dont" he said

I'm still not convinced, and still think he know he'd handled.
Hughes Da Man
It came off his chest.
