Where Have All the People Gone!

Where Have All the People Gone!

NEW Vital Blackburn member sasman shares his thoughts on Blackburn Rovers' match with Tottenham Hotspur, attendances, the strike force and the defence.

Disgraceful, hey guy's new member from Australia, stayed up all night just watching updates on the net since the game was not on live; just saw the highlights absolutely disgusting, not much we can do. (I assume sasman is referring to the Tugay red card, lack of Rovers penalty etc.)

Can someone explain to me why we have such poor attendances? I know it's a small town but aren't prices getting cheaper? Here in Sydney crowds weren't all too flashy last year but prices are cheaper and we are loving it! I guess we've got to get better results?

I'm a bit worried about our strike force not picking up many goals in the League. How about giving Morten Gamst Pederson a go up front and shifting Sergio Peter on the wing? You guys probably get to see more because I'm just limited to TV coverage but Peter looks pretty swift on the wing and Pederson can finish, so with him running around and Benni McCarthy knocking the ball around who knows aye.

Another thing I have noticed, Australia looks extremely well in defence when Lucas Neill controls the centre. With Ryan Nelson out and Zurab Khizinashvilli absolutely useless why is Neill played at left-back instead of central defence when young Jay McEveley can play there or even Michael Gray who for once did perform pretty well last night.

Attendances are a worry, you don't want people turning up just when they when do you so results improving increasing crowds shouldn't have to happen. Prices (even before the special deals!) are among the cheapest in the League so why they can't attract more I don't know. Other clubs can so why can't Rovers?

Interesting theory on Pedersen, Peter is looking a talented player so if Nonda can't start scoring (although I think his partnership is working well with McCarthy) it could be an option? As for Zurab personally I think he's played pretty well this season but you can understand you calls for Neill to move inside.

perhaps it is the style of play that is putting off supporters - Pedersen is a fantastic player, just the sort that Spurs need, roll on the january window!!

If it was the style of play Rovers are playing then the ground would be full week in week out as despite what people think they play good football. Surely you must have seen this on Sunday when they played Spurs!

for a team who won the league not so long ago, it amazes me that attendances are so poor

I know football is expensive but Rovers are cheap in comparisum to other Premiership clubs with a better ground than some also yet they only average 21,000 in a 31,000 stadium. If they played poor football maybe that would be different but they dont!
