Rovers to Appeal Tugay's Red Card

As I, and I'm sure the rest of you had hoped Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has confirmed he intends to appeal Tugay's sending off.

With television replays confirming that Tugay only fouled Hossam Ghaly with his trail leg, hence there being no intent in the foul anyway, Hughes intends to use this, along with the argument that defenders were within close enough proximity to cover meaning the Turk wasn't the last man.

Speaking to Radio Rovers Hughes said:

"We are going to have to appeal.

"I think it is absolutely the wrong decision and we shouldn't be penalised for that, we've been penalised twice, we shouldn't have to be penalised three times."

Surely an appeal will lead to the card being rescinded as happened with Andy Todd's red card against Portsmouth in the opening game of the season…

Hughes has every right to appeal, and surely this appeal will be successful.

well it wasnt a red i 100% would go for a appeal - hughes will win and tugay will have it removed

He should do leaving him fit to face Fulham. I think Spurs' Ghaly should, and will have his red taken away also.

has every right and the replay shows it as not to be..will have to wait and see what decision will be made......

We'll keep our fingers crossed but the comments being made by others suggest that no matter how much it shouldn't have been the rules will dictate that it's "tough" and he'll not get it taken away?
