Rovers Confirm Nonda Deal In Place

Unsurprisingly Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that a deal is in place to turn Shabani Nonda's loan move into a permanent deal if they so wish.

Despite scoring only one goal in his twelve appearances thus far the 29-year-old DR Congo International has made an impact.

If Mark Hughes wishes to turn Nonda's loan move from Italian side Roma into a full time one Rovers Chairman John Williams has said the club already have a deal in place. Speaking in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph Williams said:

"We have an option to buy him. It's very similar to the deal we agreed with Rangers for Zurab.

"Mark likes him, and if he feels he wants to keep him then the only thing that would stop a deal from happening is Nonda himself."

This isn't a surprise really is it as you would have thought an agreement was always likely to have been in place when the loan was agreed, that way it prevents the club missing out on him if others decide to come in and stops Roma changing the agreed price.

I like what I've seen from Nonda so far and although not all are convinced I would welcome a permanent move, and from Nonda's recent comments it appears that he too would welcome such a permanent switch.

No surprises here is there, you'd be amazed if a deal wasn't already in place. I like what 've seen so far and think he has PLENTY more to offer so would be happy if he stays.

well ill be glad to see him on the team for atleast 2 more seasons ?

He could easily do that, and as suggested by someone else (think it was Head Rover Heels?) perhaps we may even be able to drop back into a midfield role of some descript?
Hughes Da Man
Can't claim that one - Waterfall mentioned midfield, and a good call too - Although everything hasn't dropped in place for Nonda as quickly as it has for McCarthy, he's certainly shown more than enough to impress me. He's got the power and ability to play as a lone striker, the awareness to play behind the front two, and has that something extra that means he can make a decent partnership with any of the other strikers. We currently have a technician (McCarthy), a poacher (Jeffers), pace (Roberts), and Nonda's strength and awareness fits well with any combination of those. Snap him up
Head Rover Heels
I'm sorry waterfall for claiming HRH had suggested your idea, thanks for correcting me HRH. But hey HRH you make good points here but Roberts also has the power as well as pace doesn't he.
