Nonda After Permanent Rovers Deal

Shabani Nonda, currently on a season long loan at Ewood Park is very much hoping he can earn himself a permanent move to Blackburn Rovers.

Having worked hard on his fitness the 29-year-old DR Congo International striker has put in a series of impressive displays so has every chance of turning his loan from Roma into something more permanent, if not in January in the summer of 2007 when his loan reaches its climax.

With Jason Roberts out for the remainder of this year Nonda has a great chance to stake his claim for the move he is after as he is being used as main striker Benni McCarthy's partner. Despite scoring only the one goal he has impressed and has every chance of getting the move he is after. Speaking to the official Blackburn Rovers website he said:

"I like it here. It is a bad moment for me now because I came here to score goals and until now I have not scored so many.

"But I will keep working hard and I believe the team can turn things around.

"I like the team, I like the fans and I have good feelings here, so if the possibility arises then why not?"

What's the general impression of Nonda, are you impressed with what we have seen in which case would you like to see him stay at Ewood? Or does he still need to convince you he's worth the long-term commitment?

I like the guy, he's working very hard without little reward, but as I've said before its not like he is missing chance... He's not really getting any to miss!

For me "the jury is still out" as to whether Nonda or Roberts will eventualy be the best partner for McCarthy. He is a good ball player and goals will come but If Roberts is the second striker I think Nonda would be very effective just behind the front two, providing the final telling pass for them. If he is prepared to play regularly in other positions as well as a striker, I could see him in mid field (could he be coached by Tugay) or as Super-sub. coming on from the bench to either score late goals or making them happen. A better 12th man than Jeffers. He has quality and if he is prepared to commit his future to B.R.F.C (and the price is right) we should make him an offer.

well id agree with HDM he needs to jump up of the new recruit stage and head into goal scoerer area and that is what is going wrong at the moment he is still trying to settle hhis nerves

Interesting theory r.waterfall, sounds like it has potential. So many players are fexible nowadays aren't they, particularly when they move on in years.
