Great Ever Rovers Squad: Goalkeepers

If you had the money of a Roman Abramovich and even a time machine I'm sure you would love to put together a Blackburn Rovers Greatest Ever Squad… This is your chance as we start compiling this squad with the goalkeepers!

We all have our favourite players and know of the legendary ones even if we haven't seen them so now is our chance to get these brought together as you the Vital Blackburn Rovers fans get a chance to compile what you consider the Greatest Ever Blackburn Rovers Squad.

This squad will comprise of the following:

3 Goalkeepers

2 Left-backs (or Wing-backs)
2 Right-backs (or Wing-backs)
4 Centre-backs

2 Left-midfielders (or Wingers)
2 Right-midfielders (or Wingers)
4 Central Midfielders

4 Forwards

To put together this squad we need to think of names so below leave your suggestion for the GOALKEEPER or GOALKEEPER'S you would like to be considered for selection.

Once we have enough names (at least four, ideally six) we will put it to the vote and the top three will make it into the Greatest Ever Rovers Squad.

Should you suggest more than six goalkeepers I will either have to consider those most frequently suggested or somehow get you to decide on the final six people voted on?

This is your chance so post your goalkeeper or goalkeeper's names below. Why not also post a word or two on why you have selected them...

Obviously I'm going to get involved but I'm HOPING to be able to leave it to you guys mainly to list your names before I do (if needed?)
Hughes Da Man
well a obvious one Brad Friedel and another great keeper Bobby Mimms, and lol i forgot the other ones name :$
marshinrover
Surely we must have more names other than just Friedel and Mimms?!?!
Hughes Da Man
Genoe and his leggins!!!!
govtpros
not forgetting Tim Flowers......... do u remember the game against Newcastle! awesome
govtpros
Friedel goes without saying, Flowers was outstanding in his time here, and was very unfortunate not to be England No1 really. Roger Jones has to go down in history as a bit of a great. Mimms club clean sheet record still stands, and Gennoe's appearance record is number one for us as far as i know. Filan was half decent, and i don't know whether you can class Given as a "great Rovers keeper", but i certainly wouldn't complain if he was taking over Brad's reigns
Head Rover Heels
and just to add smoke to the fire.............. Terry Gennoe most appearances in goal 289 in total. Reg Elvy most consecuative appearances 152. Bobby Mimms most premiership cleen sheets in a season 19 92/93 season. this record is also held by Jim Arnold but in Rovers heady days of Div 3 79/80 season, and of course Bradly ownly Rovers keeper to score !
govtpros
Good idea this, I might pinch it for VitalFulham ; only joking!
Cravens
Of course, arguably the most successfull Rovers keeper is Jason Brown - Never conceded a goal, and averaging a penalty save every game at the moment ;-)
Head Rover Heels
theres my three "Brad Friedel - Bobby Mimms - Tim Flowers"
marshinrover
This is what I want to see guys names a PLENTY being mentioned! Use it if you want cravens.
Hughes Da Man
I think we have to look at the old boys of green jersey fame also...... 3 consecutive FA Cup wins? etc etc... don't just pick the ones we remember!
govtpros
This will only be open for names to be added for a couple more days so get them in!
Hughes Da Man
Don't forget if the name has already been mentioned if you want to mention feel free. The more people suggest a name the easier the final selection of six names to be voted on becomes.
Hughes Da Man
So how is wael Gomaa in Practice till now ?
Roversguy
so who are the 3 GK? : Brad Friedel - Bobby Mimms - Tim Flowers
marshinrover
We will vote on the options shortly.
Hughes Da Man
Has to have Flowers and Friedel in there........as for the other well between Mimms, Jim Arnold and Terry Gennoe
roversman
as for the other well between Mimms, Jim Arnold and Terry Gennoe
I think mimms becuase arnold - was he really that good ? but gennoe was ok i suppose but not up to friedel or flower standard
marshinrover
I've not really put much into this (as I said I wanted it to be down to you guys) but Friedel and Flowers CERTAINLY get my vote, as for the other I'm tempted with Mimms as he did a VERY good job in our early Premiership years, and prior to this being achieved.
