Time To Say Goodbye

Time To Say Goodbye

Speculation that Ruben Rochina is "on the verge" of leaving Blackburn Rovers isn't believed to be strictly true at the moment.

However, The Lancashire Telegraph tells us that Granada are definitely interested in the twenty-three-year-old as well other clubs from La Liga with it fast approaching decision time for Rovers, do we keep him or let him see out his final year of his contract at Ewood Park?? If he sees it out will he be involved??

Loans with Real Zaragoza and Rayo Vallecano have seen him end each of the previous two season's away from Ewood, however, it's unlikely that Rovers will allow him to exit in such a capacity again this season and that could be what is wanted as no firm bid (in a money sense) has come in.

Gary Bowyer said earlier this week that all the time he's got a contract with Rovers he'll be in his thoughts and he'll be planning to use him, however, I think this was just a diplomatic response and should a serious offer come in for the Spanish striker he'll be allowed to leave as I can't see him being in our Manager's thoughts that much.

Of course if he doesn't as he's under contract we've got to utilise his talents if we think they'll offer us something?? I feel that perhaps he's a player that's not really cut out for the Championship, which is played at a different pace and (usually) technical ability level. You could argue he is too technically gifted for this level?? He had his moments in the Premier League but Spain is probably best served for his ability and if by some chance he does stay with us this season 2014-2015 will be the final campaign for Rochina with Rovers and most likely in England.

In my honest opinion (in spite of some thoughts and comments shared here, and earlier this week) it probably is time to say goodbye and would be best for everyone if the Spaniard said Adios once and for all.

His style of football probably is seen to be more of a luxury than what is required, shame though as I have enjoyed when he has had opportunities, few and far between

That's what I was sort of hinting at, too technically gifted and a luxury for a Championship side.
