Another Promising Youngster Secured

Another Promising Youngster Secured

Tuesday was a very busy day at Ewood Park as Blackburn Rovers finally managed to offload two big earners (that did little) but also brought in a host of young talent.

Around half a dozen youngsters were confirmed on professional contracts, ranging from a year to two-years including some very highly rated ones that I'd expect to be in and around Gary Bowyer's first-team squad this coming season. One or two might get sent out on loan for a half a season maybe even the whole season but that's all part of the development.

Development striker Devarn Green is another of those that could fall into either bracket but with the former Burton Albion attacker (signed last season after a trial) signing a two-year professional contract on Tuesday he's got a little more leeway and the entire season away from Ewood wouldn't be a surprise and stand him in good stead for the season after next.

I'm a firm believer though that if these youngsters are good enough we get them into the first-team squad now, however, on the other hand if they'll benefit more from a spell away from the club on loan first that's not always a bad thing.

The Blackburn future is looking brighter though with some fresh young players coming through and the deadwood (albeit heavily paid off) gradually being moved aside for players that will be our future!!
