Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked you "Defender/Keeper of the Month for October?"

Brett Emerton's strangle hold has finally been broken with him beaten to the honour of being Vital Blackburn's Defender/Keeper of the Month by countryman Lucas Neill. Rovers' Australian International comfortably won the poll with 51%.

Emerton this month finished in second place with 20% to also book his place in the overall vote to determine the Player of the Month.

The ever-improving Andre Ooijer claimed 13% along with goalkeeper Brad Friedel with Zurab Khizanishvili gaining the final 3%. Unfortunately due to only playing 45-minutes of first team football in October, despite saving a penalty in the game Jason Brown surprisingly failed to register, finishing with 0%.

So in summary
Brad Friedel - 13%
Jason Brown - 0%
Brett Emerton - 20%
Andre Ooijer - 13%
Zurab Khizanishvili - 3%
Lucas Neill - 51%


So as the search for October's player of the month continues the current poll is asking, "Midfielder of the Month for October?"

It's good to see that Neill's "predicament" isn't causing unfair blinkered views of him and he's still getting the credit he deserves.

nah.. i thought Ooijer was Neill is good but the way he playes is like a Wing back or a LM / RM he can takle and run with the ball and as we saw last season he can shoot aswell but i thought Ooijer was a rock at the back wants he settled in

Ooijer is getting better and better but still don't think you can say he had a better month than Neill or Emerton, maybe November will be his month?
