Bowyer pushes need for patience

Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has backed the need for more patience from football owners with regards to their managers.

Rovers succumbed to a tame and lifeless 1-0 defeat at Ewood Park against Bournemouth last night - the club's third loss in a row arousing talk of Bowyer's position past the summer - and with news of his Championship counterpart Chris Powell being sacked from Charlton Athletic, the boss has called on owners to promote patience and stability.

"It was disappointing to hear about Chris as he`s a great guy,' Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"Stability is the key for any successful business - and football is a business," said Bowyer, who was previously Rovers` reserve and academy manager.

"Look at how long they`ve (managers Nigel Pearson and Sean Dyche - the Championship's top two) been in the jobs they are in and sometimes owners have got to see that."

Rovers are next in action on Saturday, as they travel to Yorkshire to face Huddersfield Town.
