Rovers heading for early Cup Exit?

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked you "How far will Rovers go in the League Cup?" Most feel maybe not too far…

The general opinion is that Rovers will do well to overcome Chelsea in the third round on Wednesday, with 55% fearing an early exit. It is possible that Chelsea will field a "reserve" side but even this is a match for almost any other club in the county, if not Europe as we are sure to find out should this happen.

Should Rovers overcome Chelsea however 26% think they will go all the way to the Final and why not!

Failing this only 2% see a fourth round exit, an increased 7% Quarter Final exit and slightly higher 10% a Semi Final loss.

Chelsea will without any shadow of a doubt be a massive hurdle to overcome but you can't help but feel should they pull off the win they really could go far as they wouldn't face many tougher tests.

So in summary
Lose to Chelsea in 3rd Round - 55%
4th Round - 2%
Quarter Final - 7%
Semi Final - 10%
Final - 26%

The current poll suggested to me by Vital Blackburn member govtpros under this title:

How much is Neill really worth? If he is indeed drawing the attentions of Barcelona, AC Milan and Liverpool…OK and West Ham…

Is asking, "Having watched Neill for some seasons what price tag would Rovers fans put on him?"

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

It all depends on the sides both manager's put out... Will Hughes put out our second eleven :-) ? But what i asked myself was... Do we care about the Carling Cup when we need to concentrate on UEFA and getting at least 6th again? If this game was being played last season then I would have wanted the team to pull out all the stops... I'll still be there on Wed Night wishing for a win!

I'd bet my house that Sparky will go all out for this - Whether we'll beat them or not is a totally different arguement, but i can't see us holding anything back - He's a firm believer in "winning mentality" and i couldn't agree more... I understand the point about "resting" etc, but i think the morale boost from a victory in any cup competition is worth far more than the energy expended. A win in this would give us a fighting chance against "the big boys" when we face them in the league. (IMO)

It gives you the upper hand doesn't it, beating Chelsea in any tournament will only help us. The League Cup is a trophy and we all want to see us win trophies so I'd happily take this one. It is also a route back into Europe if we can't get in another way.
