Rovers Snap up local Starlet

At the tender age of 16, Connor Mahoney has a bright future ahead of him if James Beattie, manager of Accrington Stanley is anything to go by. Blackburn Rovers have snared the young winger for a minimal fee which will include future clauses.

Whilst not featuring heavily in Accrington's recent fixtures, Mahoney is seen as a star of the future, with Beattie believing he will join Blackburn as their best player in the current Under 21s squad.

'I spoke to Gary Bowyer (Rovers boss) and Eric Kinder (Rovers` under 21 boss) and said to them that he will go in as probably their best under 21 player, even though he`s 16'. (Lancashire Telegraph)

Beattie also insisted he wants to build strong ties with Blackburn Rovers, possibly coming back for Mahoney on a loan spell in the January Window.
