Taylor to return to Blackpool?

Promising Blackburn Rovers youngster Andy Taylor could be set for a return to Blackpool?

Taylor enjoyed a successful loan spell with Blackpool (currently managed by former Rover Simon Grayson) last season. With their first-choice left-back Paul Tierney injured Grayson is looking for cover.

Speaking in the Blackpool Gazette Grayson said:

"I'll be on to Blackburn to see about Andy Taylor but it may be a non-starter to be honest.

Although Taylor is highly rated by Mark Hughes the 20-year-old has yet to make his Rovers debut but he has featured in at least one squad this season. If he does indeed return to Bloomfield Road hopefully this will only be a loan move so he won't become another promising youngster to slip the net after maybe failing to live up to early promise?

Grayson's comments seem to suggest that a move could be doubtful, which at least gives us hope that such a move could only be a loan spell at the worst. A loan could see yet more valuable first team experience gained by Taylor though.

I agree with you HDM that I hope this will only be a loan move to get the player 1st team football, for a couple of months. It gives Hughes the chance to watch the lad, although in a game that means something and not a reserve game, which does but in different kinda way

Reserve games are good aren't they, but you don't get that experience you do from first team games at any level. It would be good to get him out into competitive football so Hughes can take another look at him without feeling he has to throw him in at the deep end. Hopefully if he goes he'll have a great time and come back a better player. But you worry if they keep getting sent out on loan players become accustomed to first team football then that is when they can be lost as they want this. Maybe with their parent club they will have to bide their time, which not all are willing to do, which you can understand.

Yeah the more times that a young lad gets sent on loan the more likely he is to think that the club dont really know wot to do with him and is more ready to move on to club that shows an interest
Clint
i dint think any thing will happen apart from a loan if anything

That is the worry, but another loan spell maybe for the season, or at least three months should give Hughes and his team enough time to check him out and monitor his progress. He will then come back with all knowing where he is at, which will hopefully be a long and successful future with Rovers!
