Friedel set for Anfield return

Although Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jason Brown may well be disappointed to hear otherwise Mark Hughes feels that Brad Friedel will be fit for Saturday's game with Liverpool.

Welsh International Brown, having came into the team as a half time replacement for the injured Friedel in the match with Wigan Athletic, despite his heroics of a penalty save and an all round top class debut is likely to return to the bench at the weekend with Friedel likely to return following his slight groin injury.

It will be disappointing for Brown, but he is still very young and one very much for the future so I think he will more than understand that most Rovers fans will be pleased to hear former American goalkeeper Friedel is set to return for the match with Liverpool. Hughes said:

"Brad felt a tweak when he was kicking the ball, so he couldn't have continued.

"But he is very hopeful of being fit for Liverpool, much to the disappointment of Jason."

You have faith in Brown (who will be a top keeper) but would be happier with Brad in goal, especially against Liverpool so hopefully he will be back.
