Bowen bookies' favourite for Norwich

Despite no official approach reportedly being made Mark Hughes' Blackburn Rovers assistant Mark Bowen continues to be linked with the vacancy with Norwich City.

Hughes is said to be very keen to retain the services of his former Welsh International team mate, confidant, and highly respected assistant manager. Bowen, who made 299 appearances for the club during his nine years with them, is the bookies' favourite at 9/4.

Iwan Roberts, a former team mate of Bowen's at Carrow Road and also International team mate to Bowen, as well as Hughes sees Bowen as an ideal candidate, even if this hinders his own prospects of landing the job, he said:

"Mark is a class act.

"Singing his praises might do down my own chances, but wherever Mark Hughes has gone as a manager, Mark Bowen has usually been his first signing - that tells you everything."

Rovers chairman John Williams on the other hand has no intention on letting Bowen leave Ewood Park, stating now approach has yet been made, nor is he inviting any:

"As far as I'm concerned we have no intention of letting Mark Bowen go anywhere.

"We want him to stay and I'm pleased to report that we've had no contact from Norwich, which wouldn't be welcome anyway."

Cannot see that hapopening to be honest , do not thinnk Norwich would see him as a big enough name and do not believe he would want to go there when he no doubt is enjoying his time at blackburn now !!

The Norwich fans seem to want to see him there. I'm not sure Norwich could really attract that big name manager, no disrespect meant, could they afford it? Plus, put a big name in charge, if he does well how long would he hang around for before moving on. We'll just see what happens I guess.

I expect there are 4-5 managers at least linked to this job, lets face it there are plenty to choose from.
miked_joker
Plenty to choose from but not all of them might want it. I don't want him to leave but you'd understand why he might want to?
Hughes Da Man
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he went. I really hope it doesn't happen though because I feel he will be sorely missed.
roversman
yes he will roversman he is a key part in the rovers team
