What was Septembers top Rovers Goal?

Each month, you the Vital Blackburn members are given the chance to vote for what you thought was the goal of the month. Where possible you are also given the chance of actually seeing the goal!

Before casting your vote in the poll here is a recap of the top six goals for September. If the visual description isn't enough to refresh the memory check out the video clip to again relive the goal in all its glory from several different angles thanks to our friends at you tube.

Robbie Savage
Thursday 14th verses RB Salzburg, Bulls Arena, UEFA Cup 1st round 1st Leg (2-2 draw)

His 32nd minute equaliser against the Austrian side with a 20-yard free kick, curled into the top corner leaving goalkeeper Timo Ochs stranded. To see goal click here (50 seconds onwards)

Morten Gamst Pedersen
Sunday 17th verses Manchester City, Ewood Park, Premiership (4-2 win)

Such a threat from dead ball situation, this 43rd minute inswinging delivery from wide on the right would evade everyone, including Francis Jeffers, who tried, but failed to get his head to the ball, before nestling in the net. The thought of such an incident occurring must have gone through the Norwegians head as he took the kick but this wouldn't be his intention if he were honest, a good goal nevertheless. Benni McCarthy
Sunday 17th verses Manchester City, Ewood Park, Premiership (4-2 win)

Maybe not a spectacular goal, but a very cleaver team goal. A quickly taken Shabani Nonda throw would release Gamst Pedersen, his cut back would find the unmarked McCarthy who in the 65th minute steered past Weaver into the corner of the net. To see goal click here (2 minutes 35 seconds onwards)

Shabani Nonda
Sunday 23rd verses Middlesbrough, Riverside Stadium, Premiership (1-0 win)

Robbie Savage "plays for foul." When taken it finds David Bentley, who`s perfect delivered cross is attacked by Shabani Nonda at the far post getting between two Middlesbrough defenders to opens his Rovers account with a fine header in the 27th minute. To see goal click here (35 seconds onwards)

Benni McCarthy
Thursday 28th verses RB Salzburg, Ewood Park, UEFA Cup 1st round 2nd Leg (2-0 win)

The instrumental Tugay's through ball found McCarthy who worked himself some space, turning his defender with ease before beating Timo Ochs at this near post in the 32nd minute from the edge of the area with his drilled shot along the ground into the left corner. To see goal click here

David Bentley
Thursday 28th verses RB Salzburg, Ewood Park, UEFA Cup 1st round 2nd Leg (2-0 win)

Shabani Nonda won his header out near the touchline which fell to David Bentley. You've read about the goals, and now probably even watched them several times since seeing them the first time, it's time to cast your vote. I think it will be pretty obvious which goal will win but you never know...

The Benni McCarthy goal V RB Salzberg. I thought was a really real thought goal, and that was the one that got my vote.

It was a good goal I'll agree there, fine through ball but defending was a little slack. I think Bentley, which got my vote was a fantastic strike, to pull that off takes something special.

I think Tugay deserves a lot of credit for Benni's goal as well marshinrover, his vision and through ball enabled Benni to even have a chance, which granted he worked himself after. What do you mean, whats going on with our kit?

If you get a chance jono_forest I'd check out the videos, well worth it some great goals there. Savage's free kick isn't get the mention it deserves, Bentley's, as they poll suggests is world class.

I guess these are the clips you mean about the kits being different marshinrover? I think the kit used in the European ties is slightly different to that used in the Premiership.
