Pedersen considering Rovers future?
Vital Blackburn member govtpros has brought some new slightly worrying news to my attention involving Morten Gamst Pedersen... Is the Norwegian also considering his Rovers future?
Govtpros submitted me this (the text in bold.)

Morten Gamst Pedersen is keen on a move away from Blackburn.
Yesterday he expressed in an interview with Norwegian TV2 that something could happen during the January transfer window.
Blackburn has been a fantastic place for the Norwegian international but a major club like Liverpool or Manchester United would be an option too good to turn down if they come in with an offer.
This information is indeed from a website called soccervoice, but how accurate it is I'm not so sure.
I tried looking into Norwegian channel TV2 and although obviously in Norwegian I couldn't see anything in text which had the name Morten Gamst Pedersen included. Hopefully this is merely everyday gossip, and indeed if such an interview was conducted it has been taken out of context.
It is likely that Pedersen could have made a comment about maybe wanting to further his career at some point, and understandably if a Manchester United or even a Liverpool did come in for him you could see why he may be interested, but this wouldn't happen yet would it?
Tottenham Hotspur had been rumoured to be interested in making move in January so maybe this is what the reference to something happening in January is, but surely he wouldn't leave Rovers for Tottenham? With all due respect to Spurs, who are a fine side this would not be a move in the kind of direction he would be looking to move in if a move away from Ewood to a much bigger club would be wanted.
As I say this may well be, in fact more than likely is just a rumour, pure gossip (I'm not saying that govtpros has started it at all, as he didn't as I looked up the site myself after he sent me his information) which following Lucas Neill's recent outburst may well have seen an innocent interview taken out of context looking to add yet more fuel to the fire of unsettled Rovers players... which isn't the case, with the obvious exception of Neill...

that could have serious consequences on how your season pans out I think ... why would tyhey want to leave when you are doing so well at the minute ?

Pedersen's loss would be felt far more than Neill's. It's probably just gossip, with innocent comments (if any were even made?) taken out of context, hopefully!

hopefully this is true he is definitely one of your better players. I think being at Blackburn would be better than being at a bigger club for him.

Sometimes its best to stay at the smaller club for longer rather than jumping at a bigger club. Much like Neill if he went to Liverpool will he always play, Bellamy before him at Liverpool, does he always play, would Pedersen be in a similar position?

i think gamst has been groomed as a utd player for some time now. However, the direction fergie is taking utd in it wouldnt make sense to sign him. Pool won't be able to afford him atm nor would they have space for. i believe this has come about again because of spurs who seem to think they are football's gift to the world and can buy anyone...wake up reid, neill and even gamst himself have distanced themselves from spurs in recent months. That transfer won't happen

I'm with you, not sure it will, still think it is a case of innocent comments being taking out of context. He won't sign for Spurs, if he does he's a foll to himself.

I do believe that Liverpool have no room for him on the left, think Kewell, Speedy, Fabio etc. As for Utd why would he go there and not play, Fergie will have to buy big and sorry Morten isnt that kind of player. He should stay were he is under a good manager who has given him his chance

im going with HDM if he leaves he is a fool its the wrong time of his career his is playing great for Rovers and he is very happy here so why would he want to leave ? i think its just gossip

+ he has just signed a new deal so why would he change his mind, if he was considdering a move he wouldnt of signed a new deal

The common theme with us all is there isn't room, or a place, certainly regularly for him at Liverpool or United, evne to a degree with Spurs so why leave? More loyalty needs to be shown these days, Hughes gave him a chance when it looked like he was on his way out! So Hughes deserves to be shown this. It's all junk talk anyway I think, he'll not go. His new contract as marshinrover says wouldn't allow this, would only force the price up evne higher which wouldn't be met.

To be honest lads, we have all resigned to the fact that Lucas is off to "greener" pastures - he has to be given his chance - perhaps he will shine... As far as Morten is concerned I have been less impressed with his recent performances... It was rumoured at teh end of last season that he had a fall-out with Belamy because he thought he was bigger than he was... AKA Joey Barton. The lad needs more consistancy.

He certainly hasn't really performed this season, but unless a big money offer came in he'd not be allowed to leave.

Well if he's determined to leave then we should hold out for in or around the money we got for Duff, as he's probably a more dangerous player than Damien. And if Essien @ Chelsea is worth £24m then £17 for a better player is nothing, again Huth went for £6m and he never played for Chelsea. We may be able to lure Duff back if we got enough money as he never really wanted to leave, lust lured by Chelsea at the time.
