PSV forced Andre Ooijer Out?

Andre Ooijer, Blackburn Rovers' £2.1 million signing from PSV Eindhoven in August has claimed that the Dutch club forced him out.

Had the Dutch International's former club not withdrawn the three-year contract they had apparently offered him earlier in the year the 32-year-old feels he would still been playing at PSV under Ronald Koeman now. Speaking in ELF magazine Ooijer said:

"If PSV had not withdrawn their offer I would still have been playing in Eindhoven.

"If PSV would have kept their word that nonsense [he is making reference to the boycott from training he undertook as a result of the club rejecting Rovers` initial offers] wouldn't have been necessary at all."

As we all know from his own comments recently he feels his form is improving following his tough start to life in the Premiership, going on to add:

"I had a bit of an unlucky start but things are going well now. I scored an own goal and I conceded two penalties.

"But my overall game isn't bad. It is somewhat like I expected."

i'm still of the mind to give him a chance - but i know a lot of fans are disappointed with his performances.

I'm with you EER, although you can only say the "give him time to adjust" for so long Hughes wouldn't have signed him if he wasn't sure would he, especially for £2.1m! His lack of pace is a real concern though and was more than highlighted by Heskey easily getting away from him for the penalty Sunday.

Andre has a lack of pace it's true but compared with other 32yr olds he's not that slow, given that he had a brilliant World Cup in the hardest group that included the Ivory Coast - who are all quick especially Kone and the Argies who are not exceptionly quick phyiscally and mentally are a step above most, he coped very well with both plus the predictable Serbs. I have no doubt he will be a good buy
Clint
He will be a good buy for sure.
